West Pennant Hills Netball Club is a longstanding club, formed in 1969. We are one of the larger clubs participating in the Hills District Netball Association's competitions at Pennant Hills Park.
Games during the winter competition are played at various times on a Saturday (depending on age group and graded division), and during the summer and spring competitions, games are usually played on a Tuesday night.
Training is held either at Pennant Hills Park or
West Pennant Hills Public School netball courts - depending on what is convenient for individual coaches and team members.
The club committee is made up of a friendly group of current players, past players and parents.
WPH Netball Club was formed in 1969 when the West Pennant Hills Sports Club was asked by the newly formed Hills District Association to enter teams in the competition at the Pennant Hills Park courts on a Saturday morning. Keith Robinson, as a member of the sports club, asked the club if they could support the formation of a netball club for the girls who attended West Pennant Hills Public School.
The club agreed, and West Pennat Hills Netball Club was created, under the guidance of Lyn Day and Jan Stather, two mums from the school.
Teams were formed across several age groups and a ladies team, which at first played in the Parramatta Auburn Ladies Night Competition until a ladies night competition was formed at Pennant Hills Park at a later date.
As the club grew, more people came on board to assist. At its largest, West Pennant Hills Netball Club had 45 teams participating in the Hills District Netball Association competitions at all ages.
These days, West Pennant Hills Netball Club runs many teams across all age groups - NetSetGo, Juniors, Cadets and Seniors, in the Hills District Netball Association competitions. We have also been lucky enough to produce many representative players across all age groups.
